N66G50L is a nylon 6.6 compound, reinforced with 50% glass fiber, which exhibits outstanding strength and rigidity, combined with excellent practical toughness. For molded parts which may be exposed to high temperatures for prolonged periods of time, the use of N66G50HSL, the heat stabilized formulation, is recommended. These compounds can be considered for applications where exceptional strength, rigidity and creep resistance characteristics are required, in combination with excellent practical toughness and good dimensional stability, especially if performance at high temperatures is critical, and are practical and cost effective alternatives to "long-fiber" reinforced products.

 

Both formulations are internally lubricated for improved mold release. Particular attention should be paid to processing conditions and mold design to minimize both the risk of glass fiber breakage to fully realize mechanical performance, as well as abrasive wear to machine and mold. These compounds do maintain the high flow characteristics typical of nylon 6.6 reinforced with lower levels of glass fiber, and also exhibit good surface appearance.
