N6650F20L is a specialty nylon 6.6 formulation containing 20% of a fluoropolymer in powder form, finely dispersed throughout the host resin. For applications requiring resistance to the effects of long-term high temperature exposure, use of the heat stabilized product N6650F20HSL, is recommended. Each compound is suitable for processing by injection molding.

 

Although nylon resins exhibit excellent bearing performance characteristics, including exceptional abrasion resistance, the incorporation of this fluoropolymer minimizes "stick/slip" behavior by more closely matching the static and dynamic friction coefficients, and enhances PV capabilities throughout a range of pressure/velocity combinations, but especially at higher load/lower speed conditions.

 

This composition maintains the combination of properties for which nylon 6.6 is widely recognized, including resistance to the effects of exposure to a broad range of chemicals, oils, and solvents. It is a candidate for use in applications where the fundamental properties of nylon are required, in combination with excellent friction, wear and abrasion resistance characteristics, especially where use of externally applied lubricants is unacceptable or impractical.
